Naruto Manga Mistranslations?!
Question: Naruto Manga Mistranslations!?
Alright, of course Japanese-to-English translations aren't perfect, but I've been reading the Naruto manga lately, and the dialogue has changed drastically in just a few chapters!. Normally the cursing is rather light, never saying anything worse than sh*t!. But somewhere between chapters 190 to 202, the cursing skyrocketed!. When Orochimaru's four subordinates (excluding Kabuto) came for Sasuke, I started seeing b*tch and the f-bomb appeared quite frequently!. I decided to ask this question when I saw "you stupid homos!"!. Again, I know different people are translating this, but!.!.!.!.well, compared to the language from earlier, this seems out-of-place!. Can anyone verify whether or not the translations are correct!?

It is pretty hard to mistranslate Naruto just because it is not exactly dense reading (I was able to read it easily after about 3 years of Japanese study)!. The guys that came to get Sauske were foul mouthed even in the Japanese!.
For some of Naruto's lines it is tough for manga translators because depending on HOW someone said a line like ふざけるな (fuzakeruna) I would translate it as "Don't mess around" all the way to "F*CK OFF!" so it is a matter of perspective as well!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Most Japanese curses, if taken literally, wouldn't be very serious!. However, they are considered much worse in Japanese culture!.
Example: Naruto characters call each other ki-sama quite often!. It's usually translated as *****!. Literally, it means something like 'master' (that's in very old Japanese, though)!. What makes ki-sama an insult as that it places the speaker so far below the other person that they're almost being sarcastic!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

but they are trying to make this manga//naruto better!.
i just finished being in onemanga!.com because i was reading the 405 volume!. and well yeah!.!.
if i made a novel or anything i would need to put stuff like f*ck you!
and or you F**King Bi*ch and more bad stuff like that!.
everything just has to be based on real emotions and characteristics!. like the bad guys for example they because alot and always act all hard and stuff!. lol xD and well yeah!.
(oh and yes everything is spelled and translated well by a professional Japanese to English translator's :D)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Ya,I see what you mean!. Well sometimes as you have said the translations tend to vary between chapters and translations,as well as thoughs who translated it as well!. For example every now and then a translate is swicth between chapters for whatever reason,possible;y because one translator is better or worse then the last or the next!. So,each translator for the manga who does it,has there own interruption on the original text so one work being translated with one translator could be different from someone else!.
also as well some words could be translated different as well and take on different meanings at a time,which could be translated differently!.
also I think in some cases translations in manga,that are to vulgar for some younger readers,the website or translator might edit the text to make it more friendly to everyone else,but this is just I thought so,I am not 100% sure!.
also with the high demand of Naruto manga as it is so popular tranlations for the manga tend to come out very fast,and its possible between tranlation some mistakes are made!.
