i'm not sure which song are you referring to, my best bet is warrior's suite or hiten mitsurugi ryu but i'm not sure!. Other battle mode BGMs that i know are Aku no Ichi (i think this is from the fight with han'nya), Japan Running Amok (fight with shishio), the ishin overthrow plan (i think this is with shishio as well)!.
