That show came out around the late 60′s or early 70′s and it was quite common for the working class to rent an apartment or rent a house together!. Do you remember "The Laverine and Shirley" show!? Do you remember "Odd Couple" show!? There were even movies where two working men or two working women would split the bill on renting an apartment or show!.
