Well!.!.!.I'm sorry for you guys!.!. I really do, maybe because you guys lived in US and the shipping cost cause the manga to be expensive!. I lived nearby Japan and I bought the translated version so no problem for me *although it's probably the same price as you guys in US!.!.
However, I did buy some of the English version since some of my favorite manga didn't have a translated volume (Bleach, Elfen Lied, Initial D and Shaman King), and sometimes if I have extra money I'll buy some of the english volume eventhough I already have the translated volume (Death Note, Naruto)!. If you guys complaining about 10 bucks is being to expensive note this, in my country they didn't used USD$ and it's USD$1 x 4 in my country!.!.!.means it's USD$40 in my country! I still buy them though!.!.!. I'm not coming from rich family (since I think USD$ is really LOADS of my money here) and you guys complaining about USD$10 annoyed me a little!.!.!. sorry if I'm offended everyone or someone here!. I know some of you guys are student, I noticed the age group in here is between 13-17 years old, that's probably why you guys think it's expensive!.!.!.so!.!.!.I know I shouldn't judging you people, I'm just sharing my thoughts in here!.
I'm a student too, the only different is I already finished my high school unlike most of you guys here!. I actually almost finished my study at University but because of the fact I loved manga so much *and I know the mangaka really put a hard work in making them I'd still buy them no matter what!. If I'm broke, I'd just unwrap the volume at Borders and read it there until I have enough money to buy them!. Yes, I read some of them online but it's not the same!. Volume version has more detailed and kinda upgrade version/re-drawn from what you've read online and it gave me some sorta 'collector-value' if you know what I mean!.
One more thing, I know it wasn't related here but just to share you guys some thoughts, it's really annoyed me to read some of the statements proclaimed themself as Otaku!. I know a lot of US wanted to be Otaku but if you didn't even have the original manga/anime at your home, well sorry you're not Otaku enough to me since Otaku collected manga, anime, action figure, cosplay clothes--simply put--everything! I myself never called myself as an Otaku because I only interested to collect manga more and I'm not really into anime much as you all do here!. I don't think I'm a manga person either (although I stated that sometimes somewhere in here, I regret it sometimes XD)!. Still, my collection of books that revolved around manga type is more than 50% (+50 different title) than other type of comic and books I owned so I don't think I'm wrong for claiming that one though XD

Well!.!.yes!.!.like the Gentlemen's Alligence or Death Note [I'm currently chasing after these two!.!.but I forgot which one's $11],it's $10 and $11 per book!.!.which is kinda overpriced!.!.but I guess you have to understand, that it takes money to draw and print the pictures, and the ink!.!.!.and the pages that are used!.!.so you have to understand, that's why it's sooo expensive!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I do ! I would prefer new books but I have to search around for a clean used copy or wait until one of the bookstores has a clearance sale and hope what I want is in there !.
