Well Lex basically gave you the plot summary, but Now and Then, Here and There is a really moving series, one of the most moving out there!. Think Grave of the Fireflies~~ but as a series!. It shows the effects of war, mostly on children, in a desolate world!. The 13 episodes will go by very quickly!. I found it really hard to stop watching~ and finished it all in one sitting!. You should watch this if you want a serious Anime with lots of drama and an Amazing story!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

lol i love NTHT well basically it follows the life of shu who meets this girl lala ru!. at first she seems like an ordinary girl until hamdos henchman come from the future to capture her!. then shu is forced into a battle against the evil hamdo who i might say is the most insane Anime character in history!. but when he is in the future he sees that this future is not all good, hamdos hellywood has almost annihilated the whole world!. also there is a lack of water in the future!. in order for hamdo to succed in his plan to rule the world he must have the pendment that lala ru is supposed to have so she can use her powers to manipulate water but shu had it for most of the series!. during his battle to save lala ru from hamdo, he meets people that have faced terrible fates by their daily living!. he uses his experiences to take down hellywood

Oh, and as Jeremey said it IS depressing like Grave of the Fireflies- but it's like Shounen meets Grave of the Fireflies, because there is fighting, a headstrong main character, and other things found in the average Shounen- but it is FAR from average!.
