On the first day of high school a beautiful girl named Haruhi Suzumiya introduces herself as having "no interest in ordinary humans"!. She asks for any aliens, time travelers, sliders or espers to join her!. Watching her weird behavior is Kyon, a guy who sits in front of Haruhi and is the only person that is capable of actually having a conversation with her!. Kyon comments on Haruhi's whims which lead her to join every club in school and then promptly quit!. Because of this, Kyon unwittingly gives Haruhi an idea to start her own club!. Soon after, Kyon and several others (all of whom happen to be conned into the club by Haruhi) find themselves literally dragged into Suzumiya Haruhi's Brigade (the S!.O!.S!. Brigade for short)!.

Yukito Kunisaki is on a journey, seeking a girl with wings who flies in the sky, as mentioned in a childhood tale!. During this journey, he settles down in a small town, trying to make some money!. There, he meets a strange girl named Misuzu!. Misuzu quickly makes Yukito her friend and invites him to stay with her!. Yukito decides to stay in the small town, and continue searching for the winged girl his mother had searched for in her life!.

Air Gear is about a typical 15 year old, Minami Itsuki aka Ikki, the leader of East Side Gunz, Higachu Junior High school gang!. After being utterly humiliated by a street gang of Storm Riders using Air Treck (abbreviated as AT), the Noyamano siblings gave him a pair of Air Treck and helped him to deal with them!. When the incident is over, he finds that he really likes the feeling of "flying" and he is sucked into the world of Air Treck!. In the earliest part of the story, it mainly focus with Ikki finding his footing as a Storm Rider among with little episodes of his friends' lives!. Later, the story is further developed to look into the issues of the AT world when Akito and Agito appear!.

Just when he's about to be killed, a girl in a dark cloak wielding a large sword appears, and slices the monster in half!. She also told him that he is a special Torch, “Mystis”, which contains a precious item in it!. When he looks at his chest, he sees within himself a faint flame, just as she said!.
