Because from their perception if they did kill criminals they wouldn't be any better than them!. Not to mention that they would end up in the same situation as Light Yagami from Death Note!. (hunted by the police and what not!.)Www@Enter-QA@Com
In black and white concept, heroes and superheroes represent what are deemed as 'good, right and correct' by the mainstream society!.
Taking people's life is resorted to those considered as 'black, bad, villain' by such mainstream!.
If a hero kills, s/he robs the villains of their main occupation!.
By the way, Spawn kills his enemies, which are all devil incarnates, yet he fights against the whole Heavenly host!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well most of the time these super heros apper in KIDS shows and u know how li'l kids normally freak out and cry if they see blood,or someone die,or sumthing like that!.And maybe if the Bad guy accidently dies,the kids won't think that their fave hero is a cold blooded killer!.But,IDK!.this is just my opion!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
If the enemies were dead, there couldn't be a sequel involving them!. They need to untie (actually un-web) themselves and break out of jail so there can be a sequel, and the writers don't have to conjure a new villain every issue!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
