Monster is the best by far~ and yes, if you like Death Note, you should love it!. The plot is amazing!. It's one of only three series I've given a 10~ I'm very picky about awarding series a 10, but after long consideration, I really think Monster deserves it!.
Elfen Lied would be next~
Followed by Hellsing Ultimate (the OVA is better than the regular series, the regular series would be last on my list)~
then Akira, which is an old, but classic, Anime movie~ (definitely something you should see regardless)
and Darker than BLACK
I didn't really like Jigoku Shoujo that much~ I heard it was repetitive~ I haven't heard of Tokyo Majin or Liar Game~ Vampire Hunter D is a really old movie, but the sequel to it is more recent~Www@Enter-QA@Com

1) I loved Akira!. sci-fi/psychic phenomenon/post-apocalyptic, really good!.
2) Hellsing and vampire hunter d are kind of the same!. vampires!.
3) I saw a few Darker than Black episodes, reminds me of witch hunter robin!.
4) Elfen Lied, sorta sci fi-esque, manga is better
5) monster (classic, cool detective mystery stuff)
6) tokyo majin gakuen kenpucho (havent watched it but it seems pretty good)
7) jigoku shoujo (honestly just the manga scared me, i think on this list this one is closest to DN)

Elfen Lied is by far the best in the list!!Very emotional,moving,beautiful,although somewhat bloody!.But for a reason!.
