I'd have to say Dr!. Who or the old Comic Strip hero Garth!. which ran in the Daily Mirror until the seventies!. I don't like most of the conventional superheroes coming out of Britain, frankly, so I'm probably biased, especially given most of my favorite books have been BBC adaptations like Dr!. Who with Dave Gibbon on the art or Blake's Seven which was a LOUSY TV show but a fun read!.
I'm sure someone will make me sick by bringing up Judge Dredd, so let me mention my other favorite UK comics heroes; Jeff Hawke by Sidney Jordan, Modesty Blaise by Peter O'Donnell and Jim Holdaway or Enrique Romero and of course Rupert Bear!.
EDIT: Since I'm talking British Comics rather than super heroes I might as well mention Dan Dare, but Garth had these awesome adventures, and even Jeff Hawke did a few things you can't!.
Then there is James Bond!. Australian Larry Horak did the strip for years!. Under his pen that strip was wicked, perverted and a lot of fun!. The movies show him as more of a superhero but the Horak strip was great comics!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Willing to debate with Yasinu on whether or not Dr!. Who and his TARDIS qualify as superheroes as the good doctor is augmented by a supermind and employs the good over evil battle plans of our more conventional ones!. I'd compare him somewhat to Marvel's Daredevil whom developed mind and body both to outdistance the handicap of being blind and at least put him on par with Batman who draws on science for his "powers!."Www@Enter-QA@Com
