Kingdom Come a kind of elseworld what if!? From DC by Mark Waid and beautifuly painted by Alex Ross wherein most of the super heroes and super villains died in a sort of Apocalyptic, Armaggedon type manner!. I'm not sure what you're looking for but its either that or the Crisis on infinite Earths thing resulting in an Infinite Crisis where alternate versions of the DC super heroes died and also some of the well known ones including Connor the cloned version of Superboy!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
