It also depends on who licenses the anime!. If they think that they want it to go to a kiddy market well then out go adult references!. However, more adult anime say Speed Grapher that is aired on IFC at a very late night spot doesn't edit as much or at all because they recognize that this cartoon is geared for an adult audience!. It really depends on which American/english company picks it up, who they are intending to sell it to, and the time slot they expect to get with the anime!. Meh subtitled is better!. I think the Japanese voice actors are far superior to their English (mostly Canadian) counterparts!. But that is just my opinion!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Cartoons in the US are perceived as a child market only!. Yes there is some violence in old Warner Bros!. cartoons, but not to the same degree!. Films like "Bee Movie" and "Monsters Inc!." are kid-friendly without being overly violent, and with no nudity at all!.
The Japanese market makes films for adults as well as for children, and they have a different opinion about what is acceptable in a cartoon!. In the U!.S!. most adults don't watch cartoons, unless they're taking their kids to see the latest Disney or Dreamworks animated film!. Except for the college kids watching "Adult Swim", of course!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

cause they are trying to be child friendly and dont realize that most anime is not for children and is mostly for young adults who actually know what good anime is!.!.!. just get the japenese stuff with subtitles, its the best!.!.!. or learn japanese :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
