My top comic anime picks are Slam Dunk and Great Teacher Onizuka!. They're kinda bit old so it reflects on the drawing and the quality of the picture, but the antics of the main characters sent me rolling on the floor laughing!. The plots are a bit different but the main characters are very much alike!. They're really wacky, crazy, unpredictable and hopelessly stupid in ways that you wouldn't thought could make you laugh!.
Slam Dunk is the story of a teenage punk who has a natural inclination for trouble!. Because of his notorious reputation, he was rejected by 50 girls before he even reached high school!. However, by the time he actually get into hs, he met the charming and friendly sister of the school's basketball team captain!. Eager to impress her, he joined the Basketball team!. The problem was, he was totally clueless, both about basketball and the fact that he knows nothing about it!. He shamelessly calls himself a genius and geniunely believe that notion most of the time despite of embarassing disasters that suggest otherwise!.
Although this series has an element of romance, the main focus of the story is the main character's (btw his name's Hanamichi Sakuragi) struggles to become a good basketball player and the crazy antics he frequently does all in an attempt to prove his genius and impress the girl who's crazy for his greatest rival!.
Great Teacher Onizuka on the other hand is about a former notorious gang member turned junior high school teacher!. His initial goal for becoming a teacher is so that he could get closer to young, innocent, teenage girls and probably take it a bit further!. Unfortunately, instead of getting assigned to a regualr class, he was assigned to a class of delinquents, both male and female alike, who would stop at nothing to drive their teachers away!.
As one student after another uses his own bag of dirty tricks to send him away, Onizuka uses his rather 'unconventional' methods to surprisingly guide them towards the right path while learning new things about himself, his students and life in general in the process as well!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
