to make an amv if you have microsoft you use windows movie maker
or if you want a better video editor alot of people use sony vegas because you can download it for free

when using a PC u usually use windows movie maker, unless u want to use another software, if u use a Mac usually imovie is very reliable and doesn't take to long, and mainly u download anime shows(preferably raw since people get distracted by subs) split them into clips and use different clips from a song u decide to use following the beats and sometimes lip syncWww@Enter-QA@Com
just get clips from anime, like small parts or a collection of them!.
group them up so that they make sense with the type of song u place them with
