Do you think the Dragon Ball Manga is racist ?!

Question: Do you think the Dragon Ball Manga is racist !?
I'm starting to notice that some of the story is based on Nazism!.
For example they abbreviate Super Sayian levels (there's really only 3 cause Akira never created a manga for GT!. Both the Kid Goku story and the Z story are called Dragon Ball in Japan!.)

As SS1
SS2
and
SS3

Hitler had an army called SS!.

also I saw a you-tube page of some neo-nazi guy that had Super Sayian Goku in the background!.

My favorite saga the Namek saga in my opinion is based on the Holocaust!.

And I'm offended as a black person the way Mr!.Popo is drawn!.

I have wondered the exact same things about DB & DBZ!.

I hadn't made the Namek saga connection to the Holocaust, but now that you mention it, I can see it now!. I'm with you on depiction of the Mr!. Popo character, even if he is not "technically" supposed to be a human character!.

Here's a few more details I noticed:
1!. In the DB anime the Red Ribbon Army uniforms look very much like Nazi uniforms!.
2!. The Sayian race is very similar to the Nazism portrayed interpretation of an "Aryan race!." They are supposed to be the supreme race and they are all white!.
3!. When Sayians "ascend" to the supreme pinnacle of their race their hair turns blonde and their eyes turn blue!.
4!. I noticed in DB mostly, the depictions of black human characters were drawn with what could be considered racially charged or at the very least exaggerated facial features!. The characters look too much like blackface minstrel or Jim Crow characters!. (In DBZ Mr!. Popo looks very much like a racist "Sambo doll!.")

I don't know anything about Akira, so I can't really make a good assessment of where he was coming from in his character design or from where he drew (no pun intended) his inspiration for the story lines!. I prefer to think that he was simply drawing (again npi) from real world history to influence his story lines!. Although, I still have a some issue with the depictions of Mr!. Popo and the black human characters!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

woe slow down ss is just an abbreviation SUPER SAIYAN (SS)
yes technically there were only 3
Neo-nazi would of course use a powerful "white blonde hair blue-eyed" man in the background even though goku is a japanese name and had some jap features but hay im not a retard nazi

i can kinda see your view on the namek thing being holocaust

and well popo i mean big deal he was an alien not a human so um wasnt blackWww@Enter-QA@Com

They seem like coincidences to me!. I may be wrong!. I always called Social Studies (or history) SS or whenever I had homework I'd write SS for it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

haha true but i think there just coincidences , but the Mr!. Popo!.!.!.!.!.!.i don't think hes even black!? isnt he indian!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I know I'm not getting best answer for this, but I had to respond!. Comments like this have already ruined many American cartoons today!. I used to love Tom & Jerry cartoons, but now the idiotic P!.C!. police have omitted scenes & changed voices until many of them aren't even the cartoons I remember!. If I could find unedited versions of them, I would buy them just because those were so much funnier!. I swear the same people kidnapped Speedy Gonzales, because I haven't seen him in about a decade!. The last thing we need is people crying about animes until you can't get one in the U!.S!. without the political correctness nazis suppressing everything that might offend somebody!. Personally, I'm sick to death of everyone whining & complaining because they get offended about stuff!. Life's offensive; deal with it!. I'm Indian, & I get sick of hearing people whine about sports team names!. The local university where I live had to change the team name from Redmen to Riverhawks because the NCAA threatened them, & many of us in town protested!. I live in the capital of the Cherokee Nation, & we weren't offended by the Redmen!. Many of us still refuse to call them anything else because we think this step was asanine!.

Personally, I think if someone doesn't like the way a show depicts characters, they just should not watch the show!. There's hundreds of cable & satellite channels with thousands of programs available, so just turn the channel!. So, Super Saiyans are blonde, & Mr!. Popo looks like a classically-drawn black cartoon character, so what!? Watch something else!. Heck, the Japanese abbreviate Super Saiyan "SSJ" to depict Super Saiya-jin!. Americans have just deleted the J because it doesn't make sense using American terminology!. No one ever thought the Super Saiyans were Nazi troopers!. And if the Namek saga represented the Holocaust, was Freiza supposed to be Hitler!? Then why did he have the most diversified fighting force in the history of DBZ!? Geez, I'm absolutely sick of comments like this!. Give some equal time if everything is supposed to be inoffensive!. Dave Chappelle is a huge racist, as is Carlos Mencia, so why aren't you offended by them!? I guess it's okay to be racist, as long as they attack Caucasians, right!? If not, why aren't you offended by them!? Don't make such careless comments, because some of us really like shows like DBZ, & are sick of having television ruined by people whining that it's offensive!. And to those who do keep whining about things being racist, if you really believe in equality, whine about the stuff that's offensive to all races, not just a select few!. Let's get rid of everything that's offensive to every single person on the Earth!. Then, we can't even watch a freaking test pattern, because I think those are offensive!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

In Japanese it would be SSJ (As in "Super Saiya-jin" - the "jin" part being Japanese for "people/race" so it translates as a Super Saiya-being/person)!.

Toriyama is fascinated with WWII machinery and weapons - often caricaturing himself with a gas mask and basing characters clothing or transport from WWII-era items!. A character in DargonBall (A General of the Red Ribbon Army) wears an SS-style uniform!. The Red Ribbon Army itself could also be a reference to the Nazis!.

I highly doubt that Toriyama draws with racism in mind and is just interested in the technology and mmachinery of the time!. The Namek series is interesting--I had never picked it up before myself!.

Black people aren't a common sight in Japan!. An exchange student we had when I was in high school (around 2003) had never seen one before and actually took photos of a group of homeless Aboriginals to show her family back home!. Honestly, she had never seen one before and found them a novelty(!)!.

The caricature of Popo comes from a misunderstanding of the stereotypes of black people created decades ago!. Look at the Blood: The last Vampire movie, the stereotype is there, too (albeit in a not-so-comic form)!. I would like to think that as Japan continues to open itself up to foreign countries that this would disappear (but then again, look at their treatment of the Ainu - Japan's "native people")

Toriyama did a fair job of creating an Indian character though despite my thoughts that Indians would be even less likely to be seen in Japan!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
