In "Avatar: The Last Airbender" why did airbenders go exstinct, but no!
Question: In "Avatar: The Last Airbender" why did airbenders go exstinct, but not earthbenders or waterbenders!?
Aang is the last airbender, but i've seen waterbenders and earth benders (and of course firebenders)!. And the only way to get to the air kingdom is flying bason (according to Aang) so why are they the ones who went exstinct!? They seemed hard to reach and good fighters!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

If you saw the final episodes of the series you saw that fire benders increased their power during the comet!. Many were able to actually fly through firee bending!. Sozin, knowing that the Avatar would be coming from the Air nation, and knowing that he should have only been about twelve chose to attack all 4 Air temples simultaneously during the comet and wipe the threat out!.
The Earth nation and Water nation were left until after the comet as they were not considered as large a threat at the time due to the Avatar cycle!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The Air Nomads are extinct because Firelord Sozin knew the next avatar was going to be an Airbender so he wiped them all out!. Aang didn't die, because just before Firelord Sozin attacked, he ran away, but almost drowned so he trapped himself and Appa inside an iceberg for 100 years!. The Air Nomads I think were easy to kill because they did not believe in violence so they could not fight back that much!. Plus, A comet gave the Firebenders a lot of power so they wiped them out!. They probably reached the Air Nomads from riding the Fire Nation's Air Ships!. (Seen in a lot of episodes)Www@Enter-QA@Com
They went exstint (sp!?) because Sozin started the war by wiping out all of the Air Nomads using the comet which gave the fire benders extra strength!. And flying isn't the only way to get to the air temples!. (for example episode 17 The Northern Air Temple book 1)Www@Enter-QA@Com
