There are many outfits of Misa's to choose from but the thing to keep in mind is that all of Misa's outfits are inspired by Gothic Lolita and Punk Lolita!.
Whilst buying EGL and PGL dresses can be expensive, Misa Amane is a very inexpensive cosplay to make, hence why she (along with most of the other DN characters) are called 'Ghetto cosplay' or 'Closet cosplay'!.
The simplest costume of Misa's to make is the outfit she wears in her first appearance
This consists of a red/black tartan miniskirt, kneehigh black/white striped socks, black platformed Mary Janes, a black tanktop with chains and zips attached, a white shirt collar with a red tie and black/white striped arm warmers!.
Another outfit is the black outfit she wears on the cover of manga volume 4

Again, quite easy to make!.
A black tanktop with zips sewn on, black arm warmers that are ripped with black fingerless gloves, a black miniskirt (preferably one with a lace trim to give it that Gothic lolita look), studded belts and kneehigh black platform boots (probably New Rocks or Demonia)
If you flick through the Death Note artbooks, you'll find a whole load of other MisaMisa outfits; all of which are very easily obtainable!.
Just one piece of advice though; don't head straight to hot topic - Hot Topic is more mainstream emo/punk/goth; Misa is a Gothic Lolita/Punk Lolita
Another thing; don't wear converse! it totally ruins the look!
