What is an Anime con like?!
Question: What is an Anime con like!?
I'm an anime fan and I wanted to go to one, but there is a huge problem that can not be ignored!.!.!.I have no idea what an anime con is about, I know a little from my on line friends, but not much, so just pretend I have no clue as to what anime is, and tell me about a con! -Links will help 2-

Anime cons offer all sorts of activites pertaining to anime and the japanese culture!. Mostly there are anime showings, dealer's rooms where people sell manga or anime dvd's and other merchandise!. There are also artist alley's where amateur artists "sell" their artwork or fanart (by sell I mean they give you the picture of your choice when you "donate" a certain amount of money)!. Usually some con's also have gaming rooms, although they tend to have American games such as Halo and Guitar Hero, but they offer tournaments which are lots of fun!.
Depending on the size of the con other activities such as social's are available (basically people discuss the chosen anime or manga)!. There are other activities such as cosplay chess, where cosplayers compete in a human sized chess and act as chess pieces!. There are cosplay contests which are just people dressed up as anime or video game characters!. Some cons will also have "special guests" such as the English voice actors for some anime's!. I don't think there are any con's in America that have the actualy Japanese voice actors or manga artists, except maybe Comic Con!. Lastly, some Japanese foods are offered, such as ramen and Japanese drinks and snacks!.

there are lots of booths and boutiques of people selling mangas and anime dvd's!. there are lots of cosplay people walking around, contests, and somtimes some kind of mini concert!. theres also food (hehe one of my favorite parts)!. they often take place in some kind of stadium(not the sport kinds)!.

Most cons are a lot alike, first off!. You walk in and are instantly greeted by the sight of cosplayers wandering the halls!. That's one of my favorite things to do!. Check out cosplays!. I also take pictures of my favorites!. ^^
But unless all you want to do is cosplay watch, you need to register or pick up your badge!. This generally involves a long line!.!.!. :/ However, once you're done, you can get into special, restricted rooms, including anime viewings, a manga library, the dealer's room (basically, a "mall" inside the convention), panels (these can be anything from interviews with voice actors to weapons demonstrations to informationals on anime, manga, art, photoshop, yaoi, crossplay, ect, to singles meet and greets to almost anything), concerts, karaoke, dances, skits, cosplay chess, and any other events they might have!.
Now, after a while of this, you might get tired!. There're generally places to eat in or near the con location!. If you're lucky, you might also be near a park or arcade where you can get away from the action!. You may also run into some fellow con-goers and make new friends!.
