Could the Joker carry his own comic book?!

Question: Could the Joker carry his own comic book!?
In the 1970s, DC comics tried a Joker comic book which was a failure, despite having guest stars like Batman, Robin, Green Arrow, Black Canary, and even Sherlock Holmes!. Given that the recent "Dark Knight" movie has brought a degree of public awareness about the Joker that hasn't existed since the 1987 "Batman" movie, do you think DC comics should give the Joker a second chance at his own on-going comic book, or do you think that the shrinking readership for comic books wouldn't support such a book!? Best answer will be awarded based on your explanation for your yes or no answer, not how much you worship Heath Ledger!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Nope!.

Like most villian comic books it wouldn't work out very well!. You'd develop a small fanbase but probly not enough to keep it going!. Villian books don't last long!. Some get a little popular then die off!.

The problem with the "popularity" of The Joker is like any clown, he's only good in doses!.

The best hope they'd have is to take Joker out of his DC element and make him like the movie verison!. Have him being a terrorist running around doing crime!. It'd go for awhile but people would get bored being that its Mainstream DC!. He'd never be able to do things the fans would want him to see!. Unless they took it out of Mainstream!. If they focused on the whole "clown" aspect which is what he is really more known for, it probly wouldn't go over as well!.

But one never knows!. With the right writer, anything can happen!.

Well I believe he could!. What gets me is comics within DC an Marvel only deal with the superhero element!. But I believe a intricate story could be weaved around the Jokers involvement with other criminals, his funding, his maniacal actions, his fears, and his hate toward the BATMAN!. Even if this was done as a limited series it would be great!. Even before the movie franchises started The Joker has been a popular villain!. Even the villains they use after him in the movies tend to emulate him in character!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Oh yes, he can as long he relevant to the market!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
