Question about watchmen-Who's Shea?- (graphic novel- alen moore)?!

Question: Question about watchmen-Who's Shea!?- (graphic novel- alen moore)!?
ok im up to chapter 11,
so far my basic understand (correct me if im wrong) is that the doomsday clock is ticking and the only people that can stop it are the masked adventures/superheroes/ 'crimebusters/ whatever!.

My question- Who is "Shea (the guy that wrote the pirate comic and died on the freighter) and what does he have to do with the plot at all!?

also, throughout the whole book i didnt understand the plot, did alen moore intend to let the peices connect toward the end of the novel (the CONNECTION between the superheroes and WWIII)
-cause i didnt understand how WWIII and the superheroes were connected!.

Great book, just a liitle confused
thanks!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

The book is rather confusing at times!. Shea was one of the people abducted and taken to that island!. You find out the purpose of all of those people!. Just keep reading and it gets explained what they were for!. His main role throughout most of the book though was simply as back round on the pirate comic which is meant to shadow the events of the world and draw connections!. As you probably noticed what happens in the pirate comic is similar to what is happening in the world at least when you look at the basic concepts and feelings!.

As far as the connection between the heroes and WWIII it basically is that peace is their job!. Dr!. Manhattan was the only one who made a huge impact since he had such great powers that he was the USAs trump card basicly!. Everyone else is simply looking to find a way to prevent nuclear war since it will pretty much kill everyone!. Keep reading and it should come together in the end for you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
