The most un-nerving and depressing was , for me , Tehxnolyze because the protagonist Ichise died alone in a destroyed world !. An end fit for a Greek hero in tragedy !.
There was a pull-back shot emphasizing his loneliness and desolation - I was , and remain , affected !.

definitely fruits basket!. at first it's really funny, and then at the sixth volume the story changes!.I read the manga and I actually cried at the last volume!. almost all of the parents are abusive or dead, and the person who's in charge of the jyuunishi is really mean!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I don't think anyone mentioned Kimi ga Nozomu Eien!. That anime is incredibly gloomy and depressing!. But L dieing in death note did literally put me in a depression for a week(nightmares included) so i can't say for sure!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
A tie between Death Note and Elfen Lied!. The endings, went terrible, but in the right conclusion, but definitely depressing!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I agree with Aka Yoru 5 Centimeters per second was just a real tear wench er it was just done so well philosophically and the saddest part is how common and true it is!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
