Why do people hate Anime?!
Question: Why do people hate Anime!?
This question is directed towards anyone who hates anime in general (i!.e!. mainstream America, etc)!. Anime lovers can feel free to answer this as well (why you think that people hate anime!.!.) Feel free to vent if you wish if you hate anime!. I'm doing a research paper on anime and I would like to know what mainstream America's opinion about anime is!. thanksWww@Enter-QA@Com

To answer this question, I first want to say which animes I like and why:
I like Miyazaki's movies (Kiki's Delivery Service, Spirited Away, Totoro, Howel's Moving Caste, etc) because the stories are incredibly imaginative, and the animation is trying to convey REAL EMOTION, not cliche poses or facial expressions!. I also like the series Paranoia Agent for the same reasons!.
So now to answer your question; some reasons why I don't like (most) anime:
Bad writing:
A lot of them are very formulaic, which means you end up getting 500 different versions of the same show, e!.g!., Sailor Moon, Card Captors, Magical Knights Rayearth, Wedding Peach, etc!. People refer to it as a "genre", like, the Magical Girl genre, the Harem genre, etc!. But that's inaccurate!. For example, comedy is a genre, but the premiss of a comedy can be anything from two Eskimos on a whale hunt to the life of a New York lawyer!. But, when you get the SAME premiss over and over again, it's not a genre, it's formulaic!.
Commercialism:
Another problem that I have with most anime is that it's more about making money than being artistically innovative!. It's a lot like cartoons in the U!.S!. during the 80's!. Practically every series is trying to sell a card game, or a video game, or a toy!. The series itself is just one part of a much larger selling campaign!. I realize that every show needs to make money, but with a lot of mainstream anime that's their first consideration, not telling a good story
Animation:
Japanese animation is known for doing a lot with a little, artistically!. But when they chop out so much action to the point where their characters move only in cliche poses and facial expressions, I can't help but feel robbed!. Like, geez! Somebody didn't feel like animating that day! This isn't true of all anime, but it's true for the majority of it

I'm a fan of Anime and a mainstream American media fan some of my favorite movies are from the Rocky series!. Probably why mainstream American hate Anime because they think it's just childish shows like Pokemon!. As too before all the Pokemon craze a lot of people taught Anime was cartoon porn in the 80's and 90's!. It also has something to do with the fan base where hardcore otaku fans wear silly Anime accessories like Naruto headbands to public!. Public sites like Youtube where Anime otakus start tagging videos and start winning if a video is Anime or not isn't helping the fan base any either!. For me Aime is not just a cartoon shows like Ninja Scroll has a lot of blood, gore, and nudity in it!. Some Animes like Madlax and Lain deals with really serious problems like war and suicide!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
The biggest drawback I have with anime is that they always seem to follow some cliche formula!. Sure, comics do that too, except that comics take it a step further and fleshes it out (i!.e!. the relationship between batman and superman are redeveloped in the Authorities midnighter and Apollo, who are gay lovers <~hahahha ), where as I'm always treated to the same type of crap from anime!. From Bleach to dragon ball, unrealistic drawings to such simple plot stories ( ooo! hes gonna live in a house with 8 girls! where haven't I seen that before!? Oh yea! That other anime had 7 girls! this ones a step up!

From what I can see!. Too many people like anime!. Low quality anime as well!. Its like most people see anime as good, even though it is bad!. I'm not going to restrict mmyself to watching Naruto because everyone else likes it because I'm just going to point out the flaws, rather than its good points!. Alot of animes have problems people overlook because of the fact that it is an anime!. Code Geass is a good example!. If that was made by americans I doubt anyone would watch it!. Megas XLR is superior to most animes I have watched but got 1/8 of the publicity because its made by americans!. Some animes are good but I have noticed that most animes are bad!. I used to hate anime until i came across a tv show late one nite and i really got into it!.!.it's not childish at all!.!.actually there are some REALLY good anime shows out there for a more adult viewing audience!.!.!.there are actually alot of good things about anime too!.!.such as it has a certain message tied into the show that is good for everyone to remember!.!.my younger brother gives me crap all the time about watching it but i find alot of anime really interesting!.!.yes there are some anime out there that is dull, and yes childish!.!.but that's because it's for a younger audience!.!.but there is also some for a more adult and mature audience too!.!.ik alot of ppl think it's childish because it's animated too!.!.but who cares!.!.i love it Www@Enter-QA@Com
well i think that most people that have not watched anime think it is what geeks watch!. they think it is filled with unproportionit women and have crappy storylines!. but that is only one genre of anime!. they think it is all the same!. it is just like scifi!. it is misunderstood!. also people think you are weird if you watch it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think is because is childish and some people think that the characters are badly drawn, they don't like how it looks!. But the main reason is the association with been a cartoon so is suppose to be for kids!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

it depends on the person they might think it is childish and a waste of their time, some people think that anime has no value, thinking that if they watched there no point in watching stuff like that is a waste of there time thinking that they have better things to do then watching anime!. my friends for examplethinks it is childish, and some of mine other friends doesn't not like watching fantasy, they would like to stick to reality!. but unlike those people i like watching anime so much everything about my life is either revolved around anime manga and videogames, so i am basically a otaku ^_^
