Question: What is the difference between a horror and a guro manga :/!?
With the help of few notorious sites, I finally discovered what "guro" means!. >_< (I thought it was related in violence, etc, etc, but I didn't know that the characters are doing God-knows-what while beating the crap out of a victim!. But I have to avoid this kind of genre, since it is extremely disgusting!.
However, I am a fan of horror manga, but what bounds the line between horror and guro!? Is Franken Fran an example for this genre!?

Don't have much time to elaborate right now!. But horror is ordinary gore & violence!.
But Guro = Gore Hentai & really really disturbing gore at that!. For examples read the multiple definitions at urban dictionary!.

As for Franken Fran, it's a Seien series with comedy, ecchi & horror!. So no guro involved :)

For future reference, read the comments section of a "suspected" series' MU page!. The comments will often tell if it's a guro series or not (several guro titles have deceptive non-guro titles)!. Another warning sign is a lot of "1" scores in the rating system on the MU info page (but the 1 scores could mean many things, not just guro)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well guro is basicly rape and murder, and horror is just a very bloody drama manga!. elfen lied is a Horror manga, I would almost consider it guro because of the nudity though!. Its not quite so since there is no rape in the show!.
I wouldn't know of a good comparison to guro since elfen lied is the only horror I have seen, but you may consider any sort of sexual + gory scenes would be considered guro!. I'm sure it would be apart of the genre catagory if you looked the title up on ANN!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Guro is the worst possible kind of hentai, out of all the hentai genres it happens to be the most disturbing and messed up genre!. it suits necrophelic people best!. some are even brutal enough to display images of half dead people getting cut up or opened up!.
Horror on the other hand is one of the best genres of anime or manga in my opinion!. a good one would be ayakashi: classical japanese horror stories!. it shows you one of the strongest human emotion that is fear and it also shows the extent of what humans will do just to survive!. it contains drama, action, blood and most of them include pain and sorrow!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
