Yes, he did at least know them (I'm quite certain he met them at least once too!.) Evidence!? (SPOILERS WARNING) In the anime, when Roger tells Mello and Near that L is dead, Mello freaks out and says a bunch of stuff, one of them being that L promised him that he would solve the case!. also, Near has both a finger puppet and a mask that represents L!. Remember, VERY few people in the world even know what L looks like, so it stands to reason that they must have met him for Near to have stuff that looks like him!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
l matt mello and near all went to whammy's house orphanage, matt near and mello where being trained to become l's successer!. in the book death note another note mello says that l did talk to him, and in the anime mello said "He told me he would catch kira" so yes, !.!.!. see my obbsession actrally came in handy this time!Www@Enter-QA@Com
