Probably after reading Matt details from wikipedia (or such) they found out cool facts about Matt!. Like for example, he always wear googles, green eyes, gamer, smoker etc!.
There's something about Matt that made people can relate to his character!.!.!. I think that's probably the reason why all of the sudden there's a lot of Matt fan girl (and boy!?) all around the world!.

I think he might of been seen more in the manga!. I've not read it so I'm not 100 percent sure though!. It's a shame he wasn't in it more though, he looks like he could have been a good character!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
