well in the comics, peter parker was a scrawny nerd who was bullied until he was bitten by a radioactive spider and got his spider powers!. He still goes with his nerdy look so of course no one will suspect hes spiderman!. Kinda like clark kent!.

Of course he was the right role!. In the beggining, he was a weakling nerdy kid who was always picked on and never got the girl of his dreams!. With his Spider powers, that all changed!.
