Yuyu Hakusho has well organized plot and storyline with better character development compared to DBZ!.
Personally, I think their fighting scene is much better compared to DBZ!. I mean, DBZ used to be good with martial art hand to hand combat, but later, the character used a lot of ki blast, flying around, super speed that looks ridiculous!.
It's like, okay in DBZ, say one person throw a Ki Blast at you, what can you do to counter them!? A much bigger Ki Blast counter attack! It's predictable and could be boring some time (although I enjoyed it back then when I was a kid in the 90's)
DBZ also has repetitive move set though!. I prefer Yuyu Hakusho because they combined martial arts, hand to hand combat, Ki Blast (yeah they have this one, but not to the point of destroying planets), tactical strategy (Kurama used this mostly), unique ability (that territory stuff is really amazing) and all those elements you're looking for in fighting anime/manga!.
Although I must admit that I don't really like the ending of Yuyu Hakusho!. It seems a bit rushed!. But hey, so did the ending of DBZ!. At least Yuyu Hakusho are not dragging for 10 years like DBZ was!.
I don't hate DBZ though, I love both!. Its just that, I think Yuyu Hakusho has a slight advantage in term of fight scene and much better plot than DBZ!.

I liked Yu Yu much better!. They kept the power levels in check (better), and it had a reasonable story length (113 episodes I believe)!. DBZ lost something once 1/2 of everyone was at the "I can blow up the Earth whenever I feel like it" level!. also fights that go on so long that you need at least 3 in-fight flash-backs to remember how the fight started or two episodes to launch 1 attack start going too far to be enjoyable!. Yu Yu only started going "way too crazy" in the power levels in the last story line, and even then they left Earth in the process to Demonworld which regularly handles people of those power levels!. I feel there was also better character development and growth in Yu Yu as well!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Well, i really like Yu Yu Hakusho because it doesn't have a lot of fillers!. It's all related to the plot and story!. Yu yu hakusho anime is equal to the story in its manga so it's better if you watch the anime than read the manga!.

yu yu hakusho is like 10 times better than dbz!. 4 starters it didn't take them like 10 chapters just 2 do 1 attack, plus there was a much better storyline in yu yu hakusho!. in dbz everyone was ridiculously strong and everyone could basically do the same thing and it was all just very redundant!. i mean they were all like "i can destroy this entire planet w/just 1 finger anytime i feel like it" so why didn't they if they could!? and dbz was just basically insanely big dudes beating the snot outta each and everything could be seen coming 4 like a mile away!. in yu yu hakusho u actually saw the characters grow and develop and the story was more in depth and it kept u feeling like "omg what's gonna happen next!?" were in dbz if u skipped like 10 chapters u wouldn't rly have missed much and u baically knew what was going to happen b/c it was predictable and it just wasn't that intresting anymore after a certain point Www@Enter-QA@Com
