well the manga finished on June 17, 2008 but heres the ending to the story
In the end, it was revealed that Naraku was in love with Kikyo and the entire reason for his existence was his desire to be with Kikyo!. So he gives himself over to the Shikon Jewel, and turns into a huge demon, which Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku and Sango defeat!. With Naraku's dying breath, he makes a wish and sends Kagome into the Shikon Jewel with him!. Miroku's Wind Tunnel disappears, proving Naraku is dead, but Inuyasha only worries about Kagome!. Inside the jewel Kagome is surrounded by demons and darkness!. Inuyasha goes into the jewel to save her (his sword becomes more powerful and gains more ability's as he defeats more demons!. he gains that ability later on in the manga), and right before Kagome wishes for Inuyasha to be by her side, she hears inuyasha's voice!. When Kagome hears Inuyasha she waits till they are together, and she wishes for the Shikon Jewel to cease to exist (making the non-selfish wish)!. Inuyasha found out that If Kagome had made a selfish wish out of fear, it would have locked her into the sacred jewel with Naraku, and the jewel would be free to keep ensnaring peoples hearts!. Which the jewel then shatters, and Kagome and inuyasha are sent to modern era!. Without the Jewel, Where when Inuyasha sees Kagome starts crying when shes sees her family again, Inuyasha decides to return to the past alone! without Kagome, After Inuyasha returned the well would no longer connect time between the modern and feudal eras!. 3 years pass!. Which during those 3 years Kagome finishes school and graduates and starts crying feeling that the well wont connect because of her!. Back in the Feudal era Miroku and Sango have 3 kids and life seems pretty much back to normal!. And suddenly Inuyasha smells Kagome's sent in the feudal era, and runs to her, where he pulls her out of the well and into his arms!. In the end they stay together, where Kagome learns to become a Priestess and decides to leave her family and friends behind to stay and live in the past with Inuyasha!. Kagome calls sesshomaru "onii-sann" which means brother in-law in English meaning they get married (though we don't see a ceremony)!. The End
