It was banned and not aired in the U!.S!. because it had use of firearms in the episode (because Ash caught his 30 Taurus in a Safari Zone, AKA, Hunting Zone)!. Back then, we were only little kids and the animation company (as well as Kids WB) didn't feel well about letting firearms to be seen in a children cartoon!.
If you want Manga, I'm not sure where to buy them because there are so many!.
The only place where I've seen Pokemon Manga were at Barns & Noble and on http://www!.onemanga!.com
But I just want to add, the characters, story line is so much different than the anime!. Nothing is the same in the manga!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
