My son loves to watch Tom + Jerry, So I get to watch it a lot!.!.!.!.
On the older ones, I have noticed that the owner of Tom, she calls him Jasper, anybody know why!?

starting with 1940's "Puss Gets The Boot" (back then Tom was named Jasper!) and ending with 1944's "The Million Dollar Cat"!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Simply because he was originally called Jasper! They weren't billed as 'Tom and Jerry' cartoons at first and it was only later when this cat and mouse duo were renamed and 'branded' as it were, it was originally just a MGM cartoonWww@Enter-QA@Com

Maybe its his name, like the name you call your pet with, and his name as Tom is named after Tom!.
