Question: Does anyone out there remember "Astroboy!?"!?
this was an animated show that I can barely remember!. it came on in the 60's!. the show was about this little boy whose feet would come off, jet propulsion replaced his feet, and he could fly through the air!

Yes!. Everyone has answered this very well!. Astro Boy or Tetsuan Atomu was the creation of Osamu Tezuka who is commonly called the Father of Anime!. It was a great show, and has its own Wikipedia page!. So does another show, which Tezuka did during the sixties, called Kimba, the White Lion, or Jungle Tatei!. Most of us believe Disney's The Lion King is based on it!. Disney denies this!. Kimba has been on my list of favorite animations since the sixties -- with Astro Boy!. The Lion King isn't, and frankly one reason is the same as why I don't believe them on this!. They are too similar and where they are most similar Kimba is always better!.
So yes, not only do many of us remember Astro Boy fondly, but we honestly believe it is one of the greatest examples of animation ever!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

"Astroboy" had the distinction of being the first anime to be dubbed in English and released in the USA (albeit with a different name that the series used in Japan)!. "Astroboy" is the first anime I can remember seeing on a fairly regular basis!. As you can see, you and I are not the only ones who remember the series, and Cartoon Network showed "Astroboy" for a few months during Adult Swim, not all that many months ago!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

And, the other day at school I saw a girl with an AWESOME bag, it had an image of Astroboy on it, and above it said 'Science Fiction' or something!. But it was one of those where when you turned to the side, it showed the insides of the mechanics and stuff!. It was pretty cool!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yup, astroboy, rocked!. One of my friends collects astroboy figuerines and has a tattoo of him on one arm and betty boo on the other!. Matches nicely!.
