Answers:
Maybe, but I think the best one to explore the Joker's history would be The Killing Joke written by Allan Moore!.The scars on his face only came up recently in the movie The Dark Knight!.Maybe to have an edgier, more psychotic Joker than the previous incarnations!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The Joker has been re-invented many many times!. If you read the wikipedia article on him you will discover several of the conflicting origin stories!. In other words, the conflicts go back to the 1940's when he was first introduced!. As an old fan of the Smiths and Souixsie and the Banshees I look at this new design and think they are making a statement about the early Goths (GRRR!) but it's not surprising they would adopt it!. The Joker has never been one of the more consistent fixtures of the DC Universe!.
