A video editing software (if you have Windows you'll already have Windows Movie Maker)
Some good music that goes with the video would be preferably good!.(You can download it with a bit torrent or buy it or take it from a CD)
and that's pretty much it!.
You don't need a codec depending on what you use!.!. the HyperCam doesn't really need a codec
HOW TO MAKE AN AMV:
1!.Turn on the part/episode you would like to record
2!.Start recording
3!.Save it
4!.Open it with Windows Movie Maker
5!.Edit is as you need to
6!.Add music and save it
7!.Congratulate yourself to making an AMV!

For this to be possible, you would need a program that would edit the episode and cut chunks of it so that you can use them!. If you're running on windows, you might have came across something called "windows movie maker"!. Its an okay program, and keep in mind that you're not limited in options!.
Technically, that's all you need really!. In layman's terms: 1) Get the clips you want!. 2) compile the clips in the order you want them to play!. 3) Add whatever music you want and save it!.
