have you read the entire manga!? the only thing they share in common is a female MC who disguises as a boy!.
it's obvious from the very first chapter/episode that ouran is a co-ed school!. that's why they're the Host Club!.
haruhi attends a co-ed school, and romance is, at the beginning, Far away from her mind!. the entire manga is about all seven members of the host club, and each of their individual issues, although as the series goes on, it becomes more about haruhi and tamaki (the male MC)'s developing attraction to each other!. before the Host Club they were beautiful, and rich, but they were all basically screwed up, relationship-wise!. even haruhi had her own issues to deal with!.
you can't say that ouran is a rip-off, because it doesn't have a lot in common with hana-kimi!. i understand if you don't like it, but it's kind of sad that you're putting it down because you're misinformed!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

the girl did not go to a boy's school!. they have both boys and girls!. its just that she was first mistaken as a boy, and then she continues acting as one!. and they all (the host club members) knew that she was a girl!.
as for hana kimi, it was kinda frustrating because i think ikuta tohma (the roomate - forgot his name in there) is better!.
