A question for Spider-man fans?!

Question: A question for Spider-man fans!?
!!!First of all I'm not saying this is happening or ever will happen ok!!! What would you do/say if marvel announced a new superhero!. This superhero is a guy and was also bitten by a irradiated spider as a teenager!. He gained the same powers as Peter Parker but slightly greater!. But, unlike Peter who quickly jumped into being a hero, this guy kept his powers a secret his whole teenage life out of fear of being thought of as a freak or weird and out of fear of taking on the responsibility of his powers!. One day his best friend dies right in front of him and he realizes that he could have saved him if he only used his powers!. Now with a completely new outlook on himself and with the disposition to use his powers for a greater good, he seeks out spidey!. He asks spidey to teach him everything he knows!. After learning everything spidey knows, he fashions his own suit with the help of spidey and sets of to fight crime solo!. For school I have to right a story and I really like spidey so this came to mind!. I know alot of marvel fans didn't like the clone saga and didn't like the scarlet spider, so you probably won't like this!. So, I don't want you to tell me if the story sucks or not for school, because I'm going to do it anyway haha, but as a spider-man fan would you welcome this new part of spidey's story if marvel launched it, or would you be against it!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Very detailed question!. So, I'll try to give you a very detailed answer!.

1!. As a school story, as long as you don't have a teacher who is completely anti-comics like some of the ones I had in school, it would probably work fine!. I honestly don't believe you will have to worry about legal issues over copyrights & all in this scenario, so have fun with it!. However, depending on the length of the paper, you may have to considerably trim down your original idea for a short story!. This could be beneficial, as you could leave your audience with something of a cliffhanger!. You could leave off with your character meeting Spider-Man, or with him completing his costume, or something like that!. Just don't leave off with him driving off into the sunset in the Spider-Mobile! Ha-ha!

2!. As a Marvel comics aficionado, I'm sorry to say this story would most likely not be published!. I'm not saying this is guaranteed, as the idea is a lot better than some of the garbage Brian Michael Bendis comes up with these days!. However, it reminds me a little too much of the backstory on Steel Spider (see link below), as well as the Robin origin story!. Granted, it isn't exactly like either, but it may be too similar in your current description to gain notice!.

3!. As far as accepting it, I can't rule in with a verdict on it yet!. I've yet to see your writing style, so concepts which may sound good might end up poorly written, or vice versa!. I don't believe I would use exactly the same accident as what happened to Spider-Man myself, but that's just me!. With all the battles Spider-Man has been in, it's very pheasible that one of his foes could have experimented on the child without his knowledge (it would have to be a smart one like Green Goblin, Dr!. Octopus, Jackal, or Lizard)!. This could invariably add a new plot twist should you decide to expand on the concept, as this villain could have been watching the child in secret for years without his knowledge!. The child's Spider-sense would never alert him to the threat, because this foe would be someone close to him like a loving stepparent who he has come to view as his own father/mother in place of a lost parent!. That way, should you try to submit the story concept to Marvel, you not only have a character, but you also have a nemesis & a future comic plot for the ultimate betrayal: just as the new superhero begins his career, his stepparent informs him that he was given his powers in a plot to destroy Spider-Man rather than become him!. The child must choose to follow in the footsteps of his hero, or remain loyal to his close relative!. After all, what would Spider-Man be if he hadn't had to face all the adversity he has in life!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

No!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

There are a few reasons why I wouldn't like it!. First He has the same abilities of spidey only better!. Second!. His background is identical to Spidermans!. Spidey didn't jump right into being a hero it was Uncle Ben's death that made him re-evaluate his powers and what they mean!. "With Great power, comes great responsibility"

If you could change his background a lot but still have him come to the same decision I may be ok with that!. Make his personality different than parker too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I can't say I would be "for" it, but I definitely would not be against it!. There is a good amount of originality to this type of story, and I would like very much to see how it plays out!. It may turn out to be a sucky idea, or it may be something pretty cool!. A storyline of that type has a lot of potential to go a lot of different ways!.
Personally, I think that the Spider-Man stories have been sucking ever since the whole "Brand New Day" crap!. I would love to see that that story never happened at all, Peter and MJ are still married, and a story like this happens instead!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

HELL NO! First off it's old hat, rehashing!. Why would you use someone else's exact origin story for a "different character"!? It would not go over well!. For one Spider-Man is unique cause he had a strange reaction to the spider bite!. If anyone could just become Spider-Man by letting a radioactive spider bite them that's just stupid!. I'm sorry but I am a big proponent of originality and I think you would get laughed at if you wrote that story!.

You could however make the guy a huge, stalker like, Spider-Man fan, so much so that he somehow subjects himself to over the top experiments in the hopes he would get Spider-Man's ability and become his sidekick!. You could take that a lot of places having him either become grossly deformed and such!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
