His dad sealed the 9 tailed fox in Naruto 2 keep 4 destroying the Hidden Leaf Village!.
In the process his mother was putting Naruto in the rituial were the fox was sealed!
When she got him there the 9 tailed fox killed his mother by stabing its tail through her heart and the 4th hokaga right then sealed the fox with his mom inside naruto!
His mom looked like a little bit of Sakura,Kagoma,and Sasuke’s mom!.
And Naruto was BORN the day the fox attacked!Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's never been stated!. (Technically, she's never been stated to have died, but Tsunade and Jiraiya talk about her in the past tense, which would be extremely rude and unusual for them to do towards the mother of a boy they both care for so much!.)

I believe Naruto's mother died fighting the Nine-Tailed Fox as well!. Most of the experienced adults in the village died in that battle, so I think it's safe to assume that she did too!. Beyond that, I don't think they ever elaborated on it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
