She dumps him, he gets drunk and passes out in front of his apartment because he can't open the lock!. The girl next door comes home, another student at the academy!. She falls for him at once and drags the unconscious Chiaki into her apartment!
He wakes up the next day hearing someone playing Beethoven's beautiful Pathetique piano concerto and he realizes that here is someone who is as talented as he is! But when he opens his eyes, he is shocked to see that the place is full of trash! There are cans and bottles, fast food wrappers, dirty laundry, mold, dirt, ants, flies and dust everywhere!
