Changing guitar strings:what is the proper length?!?!

Question:

Changing guitar strings:what is the proper length?!?

im a new guitarist and I dcided my strings needed to be changed i watched videos on how to chnage them and understand the concept and have even had a few sucesses when changing them but my problem is I DONT KNOW HOW MUCH SLACK TO USE for each string because as u know the slack needed for winding changes for each one

i was hoping someone could tell me approximetly in inches how much slack i should leave for winding on each string

i really appreciate your help

Answers:

When you thread the string through the hole in the post, go roughly an inch beyond and make your bend. That way, you should have roughly two turns on the post- your guitar will stay in tune better since there's less chance of the strings slipping..Good Luck!
