Question:

Would you agree with the statement, "If music is available FREE, there's no reason to pay".?

I'm doing a research on "Implications of Internet on the music industry" as part my of my masters degree dissertation and was wondering if I could get any feedback and opinions from the members of this community who are ever so helpful. As part of the research on pirated music and illegal sharing of music using P2P software or websites, I'm doing questionnaires to gather and analyze information from people who actually purchase their music and also from people who get their music free by copying from friends, internet downloads etc.Do you purchase your music or get it free? If you purchase it, can you name some sources where you get it from like iTunes store, retail shops etc? If you get it free, can you name some sources like copying from friends, making copies of CDs, peer to peer software like eMule, Kazaa, eDonkey etc.Do you think legally purchased music has any advantage that makes paying the money worthwhile when you can get the musicfor free?

I'm going to keep this answer brief as having another webpage open is hindering my download speed. ;-)
