Can you believe Rick Springfield is back on General Hospital?!
Question:
Can you believe Rick Springfield is back on General Hospital?
I don't watch soap operas, but I liked his music and knew about his past, but didn't know he went back to it. On a follow up, how long has he been back on the show, for those who are die hard fans of either rick or GH in general?
Answers:
Rick Springfield came back to General Hospital beginning on with a brief appearance on Friday, December 2nd, 2005. His return as neurosurgeon Dr. Noah Drake (the same character he played from 1981 to 1983) was originally slated to last only 4 episodes, and was designed as an introduction to Noah's son, Patrick, also a neurosurgeon. Positive fan response prompted GH producers to offer Springfield "recurring" status on the show, effectively extending his stay on GH indefinitely.
In July of this year, Springfield took on a second role, that of ailing Australian rock star "Eli Love". It is unknown at this time how long Eli will be a fixture on the Port Charles canvas.
On a personal note, I have to say I am enjoying RS's return to General Hospital, particularly his current storyline, very much. I have been a Rick Springfield fan for some 30 years, and a soap opera fan my whole life; the blending of the two enthusiasms is terrific, at least for me.
