How to make a big drum from 55 gal blue plastic rain barrel?
I was at a big tam-tam and someone had a bass drum made from one of those blue barrels that people use for rainwater.
I beleive it was sitting right on the ground while he played it. he was using mallets. It had a very deep, loud, yet muffled sound. How did he make it? Is is as simple as putting a lid on it? Any tips or other ideas for home made big and loud drums?
I would have asked him myself but I was in a trance drumming and watching the sun rise, and so was he! lol!

just find one and hit it. Its already made. When you are as high as you were then anything will sound good. You can pretty much clang and garbage can or bucket and get the same effects.
