How do I get my mom to let me have a cell phone?
I really want one because I go to a lot of places without my mom and she always tells me to check in with her every so often and it is a pain to use other peoples cell phones. How do I pursuade my mom to get me a cell phone??? I'm desperate.

Well, ask, obviously. If she says no, explain why you want one (the checking in from friends houses thing is good.) and ask her what you have to do to prove you are mature and responsible enough to have one. Listen to what she says, then do it.
Asking her what *you* have to do to get one will show her that you're already thinking maturely about it. It also tells her that you understand that you don't always automatically get things given to you, just because you asked nicely.
Plus, it sounds a lot better than whining, screaming and otherwise demanding she give you one.
