Question:

Can i put ernie ball extra slinkys on my fender stratocaster or does it have to be fender bullets?

Answers:

You can put on any kind of strings that you want. It doesn't have to be Fender Bullets. If you change the gauge of the strings too much, you may have an intonation problem, but it can be easily resolved by readjusting the bridge. The Ernie Ball strings you are referring to should work well with your Stratocaster. There are really only a few string manufacturer's and they just put the name of their company on the packaging. Any good nickel or stainless string will work on your guitar, just remember the stainless are a little stiffer to play than the nickel. I would recommend 9's for your guitar.
