What's the point of artists making videos when they never get played

I was thinking the same thing not too long ago. Nowadays MTV, BET, and VH1 hardly ever play music videos unless it is late at night or sometimes early in the morning. These channels were created to play music and all they do is air reality shows. That Sucks!!!
