Black and White 16th birthday party help...?!

Question:

Black and White 16th birthday party help...?

For my 16th birthday, I'm thinking about a black and white party. I know that usually black and white parties are formal, but I want this to be a "Not so formal Black and White party", if thats possible. I guess I'd just tell people to wea black or white but they don't need to dress up?

Firstly, who should wear black and who should wear white? I was thinking the boys in one color and the girls in another, then me wearing maybe red?

Next I need help with decorations. I've already got black and white (also silver for somethings) balloons, streamers, maybe putting together a balloon arch, big dice, big playing cards, confetti, blacklights, and other lights. Need help!

And for food, I was thinking of just finger foods, no meal, so people can just walk up and take whatever. I was thinking oreos, licorice, m&ms, whoopee pies, ice cream, cake, hershey's hugs, cheese cake.

And lastly, some help with entertainment? I might get a DJ, but I need some more help with this mostly PLEASE!

Answers:

First... I think if you just tell everybody that it's not formal then they know they can wear whatever. Also it should be easier for guys to find black and the girls can wear white.

For decorations I like the idea of dice and the playing cards. I don't like the balloon arch. That seems real promish. Don't know what your budget is but maybe you can do like a Vegas theme since you have those stuff gearing towards that theme.

As for foods, all that stuff you have listed is candy and sweet snacks and everybody's still going to hungry but sick. There are lost of finger foods like deviled eggs, chicken fingers, hot wings, pig in a blanket, spring rolls, miniature beef pies and/quiches, even some fruits. Make sure you have something to drink too fruit punch, iced tea, or lemonade always works.

With the entertainment usually a DJ is a good way to go. Know what your budget is and find one that's good and will listen to your requests of what to play. If you don't get a DJ you're going to have to find somebody to make CD's with the music you want to play and have them in a CD player or something like that. That'll be a lot more work that just getting a DJ.
