Hosting a party?!

Question:

Hosting a party?

I know there are tupperware parties that people host. What are some other products that you could sell by hosting a party? I have looked on the internet and the only other one I see is Aloette. I dont really want to sell makeup. Any ideas or some sites that I can visit. Maybe candles or something like that.

I know you said you didn't want to sell makeup but I've sold Avon before and I like it because you don't have to pay for an inventory like you do with MaryKay: you pay for what you sell when you order it and you don't have a lot of stuff in your house going to waste. Avon pretty much sells itself if you're in an area with not a lot of Avon reps and you have a laundromat nearby where you can leave catalogs, or a senior center, etc.

Some folks I know have had have jewelry parties from this company: http://silpada.com/public/

To be honest, I live in LA and a lot of the things people sell at parties here I can find at Pier 1 (candles) or Costco (tupperware) or Macy's (jewlery) cheaper and with less pressure so I don't do the social shopping thing although it seems to be very successful. If you're in an area that's lacking "fun" shopping then you should do well. Good luck!

p.s. watch out for scams, you can check almost any party sales thing by Googling "complaints about xxxxx" or calling the Better Business Bureau.
