i heard that you can find out the year/age of a les paul electric guitar by the serial number. it is a "black beauty" that is all stock except for the finger board. the letter I in "gibson" on the head is not dotted meaning it is unique. there were only a few made like this. thanks...

The year of your guitar is always on the back of the neck (Where all the kes are only on the back) there will be a sereial number for instance I own a les paul studio my serial number is: 012360421 the year is the first and fifth number so the first number 0 the fifth 6 my guitar is an 06. Hope this helps.
