Did anybody go around snapping bars of "sheild" soap in half in the 19!

Did anybody go around snapping bars of "sheild" soap in half in the 1970's looking for its secret?

or was it just me, and maybe i should seek help?

I remember Sheild soap well, It's secret was in the marbling as it was supposed to a deodorant built in. I loved the smell but don't think I was ever into snapping it in half, my mum would have probably killed us!
