I want to write i song but i dont know where to begin......?

do i find the track/beat first or write the sone first? any tips would help! thanks for your time!

If you already have a tune in your head and the words have started to come together, continue to write the song first. Then go find the track. Never cut off the natural flow of creativity (be patient it can take a while to find the right track some websites I'd recommend are www.givemebeats.com www.trackmasterz.com www.beatport.com www.thebeattrader.com).

***However, if you are having trouble putting together words/lyrics or have writers block go and look for track/beats first. A track can inspire you to write a song. That's what the pros do when they're out of inspiration or have writers block. They'll go listen to tracks to get the creative juices flowing. If you read any of the music magazines, many of the artists say something like "I heard the track and I just had to do the song, the lyrics just came to me" (or something to that effect). Not that I'm a big fan of Nelly, but he said in an interview he heard the Neptunes track and then came up with his biggest hit ever "Its getting hot in herr", you know the rest***

Last but not least, be patient this can be a time consuming process. It can also be a quick process where everything comes together. You'll succeed if you truly love music
