Can I develop vibrato, sautille, staccato, and pizzicato even though I have neve!

Question:

Can I develop vibrato, sautille, staccato, and pizzicato even though I have never played before in 1 1/2 month

I take violin lessons every single day (excepting sat/sun) for 1 hour and will practice by myself very hard. I also have piano background (7 years).

Answers:

These are all skills that are developed at different times with different people. I had vibrato down after about 2 months, but it differs. Some classical violin instructors teach vibrato and other things when they think the student is ready, and it depends on the natural ability of the player. Having piano skills will help with things such as intonation, but won't determine how you develop those other skills. Pizzicato is something that is taught very early on, and same with staccato.

It sounds though like you are on a roll, and will learn all these skills in no time. Enjoy yourself, and good luck!
