Im fairly eclectic when it comes to music....I like a little bit of everything r!

Question:

Im fairly eclectic when it comes to music....I like a little bit of everything really.?

I dont care for hardrock...but every now and then a song comes out I like...same for rap/country/ etc.

but my all time favorite music is 60's and early 70's stuff...especially motown and the like. music back then was clean and simple and easy on the ears.

When I hear music today with all the proganity and sexual suggestions I just want to cringe...you can have good music without all that vulgar talk so why do we seem to crave it so much.....or is it that we have become immune to that sort of speech? Its a sad sign of the times am I right?

Answers:

I wasn't alive in the 60's or 70's but that is the music I choose to listen to. It is peaceful and sweet and full of good sayings and ideals. No one was thinking back then, "Hey, we can make millions of dollars for this!" Everyone was thinking, "How can I get my message out?" How can I teach people what I know?" Or how to make people feel good.
Music should be something that when you put it on, it lifts your spirits...You can feel the soul of it and feel how intent the musician is...A Musician that is more about money, you will feel that from him. A Musician that is about the Music, you can feel that as well, A radiance emits from them...Showing people what is in their souls through the beats and sounds...No band does that today. Not one.

I can listen to any music really...I do prefer all older music. My favourite is Pink Floyd, because most of the songs are so long you get a chance to feel what each individual is feeling...You get a chance to feel the beats of the drums for a few minutes and then a long guitar solo...It's not the words but the instruments themselves telling their stories!

The main problem is that no one is into Music anymore for Music itself. Suddenly if you can play a few chords on the guitar and sing a song you are an artist. That was NOT how it was back then. Back then you had to BE SOMETHING. You had to compete with Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd the Beatles. These were Musicians that were something big...Who do you have to compete with today? Some new rap group singing, "Yo Yo" or some Punk group banging their heads on a guitar??
People need to appreciate MUSIC not the Musicians themselves per se But Music as a whole....
